We create timeless architecture inspired by the past, designed for the future. Whether working on new, modern construction or a historic renovation, our approach is always tailored to our clients and the region, creating a unique vernacular style that integrates modern-day living with classic New England forms. Rather than recreate history, we seek to build upon it sustainably, efficiently, and beautifully.
Since founding the firm in 2008, Kevin Browne has grown this studio from a one-man operation to a full-service design firm. We are careful listeners, open communicators, respectful collaborators, and responsive partners. We love what we do and want you to love it too. We foster camaraderie and encourage joy throughout the design process, both within our team and with our clients. With collective decades of experience in residential architecture, our team is dedicated to designing the home you’ve always hoped for through meticulous care and thoughtful expertise.
Our projects have been featured in regional and national publications and have been recognized over the years by the likes of Dwell, the Boston Sunday Globe, Houzz, and more. We are NCARB certified and are affiliated with The American Institute of Architects, The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, the U.S. Green Building Council, Passivhaus Maine, the Portland Society for Architecture, and the New England Sustainability Energy Association's Bottom Lines Program.
Sustainability
We strive for "good" design—to us, that means site-specific, efficient, healthy, and comfortable homes that make a minimal impact on the environment and its natural resources. During the design phase, we analyze the structure with energy modeling, and come time for construction, we conduct tests to account for (and resolve) air leakage from the home.
We are members of the NESEA Bottomline peer network where we sharpen our skills and improve our triple bottom line (People, Planet, and Profit).
