Welcoming All People to Carpentry
BIPOC and LGBTQ+ encouraged to register!
WBT’s mission:
Their all women crew of instructors strive to provide a safe, accessible, inviting and collaborative environment for anyone interested in learning the confident operation of power and hand tools. WBT will empower participants to tackle carpentry projects from initial conception to planning, material acquisition, and construction. By building together they encourage one another to feel capable of joining the trades, to develop skills for self-reliance and sustainability, and to rely on the communities that grow out of these workshops for support in our future endeavors.
WBT and attendees will spend two consecutive Saturdays building together to empower participants to feel confident and capable of tackling carpentry projects. Day 1 will consist of building sawhorses and learning the safe operation of power tools. On day 2 participants will work together to interpret building plans and build a toolbox they can keep for personal use.
These workshops will be offered at Maine Passive House, 15 North Main St, Bryant Pond, ME
Two Day Workshop: $60 total
Partial scholarship: $35 total
